A Few Things to Know, Before You Start...
-
U.S. citizens generally need a visa before traveling to China.
-
U.S. citizens may be eligible for a 10-year multiple-entry visa, making future trips easier.
-
The information on your visa must match your passport exactly. Even small discrepancies can cause entry issues.
-
You must use the correct visa type for your activities. Working in China on a tourist visa is prohibited and can result in fines, detention, or deportation.
Visa-Free Transit Option
-
China currently offers a 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit policy for eligible travelers from the United States when traveling from one country/region through China to a different country/region (for example: USA → China → Hong Kong). Specific rules and eligible ports apply.
